2024 AG1- Monday AM printmaking with Amanda and Peter

The Monday morning Printmaking Art Group is an experimental print group consisting of artists with varying levels of knowledge and experience. We’re not a tutored group, but we support and teach each other in our endeavour to try new methods of printmaking, a medium which has endless options.

We work in a non-toxic environment, some using oil based inks which are cleaned up with vegetable oil, water-based relief inks, and increasingly, oil-based aqua-wash inks. Our mediums vary from lino (using grey silk-cut, white soft-cut and Japanese vinyl), woodcut, drypoint on perspex plates, monotype, monoprint and collagraphs. Some of us like to mix our media, adding collage, chine collé and hand-colouring.

Artists of all skill levels are welcome to join our group. We have a stock of materials which we’re willing to share with newcomers until they are more familiar with the medium, as well as a small press. Feel free to contact the convenor if you have any questions about our printmaking group.

Please bring your own art materials, a drink and a snack if required plus cleaning gear for your area. The CAW room is equipped with tables, easels, donkeys, small tables and chairs. 

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to help set up. We also appreciate help with packing up after the session. We look forward to seeing you in the studio.
