Wine, Paint & Pizza is a fusion of art, wine, food and fun. An enjoyable evening with like minded people, a glass of wine and an artistic challenge. The main goal is to have fun and at the end of the evening you’ll take home your very own creation.
Shiraz, dry white and bubbles will be provided, but you're welcome to BYO soft drinks if your prefer. Nibbles available throughout and a pizza dinner provided.
The tutor, Stephen Clively, will welcome guests, explain the program and introduce the evening's challenges. Whether you’re an experienced painter or a first timer Stephen will guide you through the process.
All materials will be provided, all you need to bring is an apron or smock. The challenge will vary from event to event, but the goal will always be to have fun.
About the Tutor
Stephen Clively has been making art for three decades and, aside from his time spent as a policy adviser to the Australian and UK Governments, has found time to plunge into art part time at the Putney School of Art, the ANU School of Art evening classes and several ASOC Summer Art Experiences in Canberra.
A saying of Henri Matisse has been one of Stephen’s guiding artistic principles – “What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter – a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.”
Stephen says “What I aim for is art of balance and serenity, with the aim of creating art that soothes the mind.”
Responsible use of Alcohol
Responsible consumption of alcohol is your responsibility and in your best interest. Every person’s body reacts differently to the consumption of alcohol. Understanding your own limitations is important and will aid in ensuring you consume alcohol responsibly.
Getting home safely
There are a number of ways you can get home safely. They include:
- Nominate a “Designated Driver” for your group before you start drinking. The “Designated Driver” should not drink alcohol, and is responsible for ensuring you and your friends are driven home safely.
- Take a Taxi or Ride Share. Book a taxi on (02) 6280 0077 or use your Ride Share app to book a lift.
- Never accept a ride in a vehicle from someone you suspect is affected by alcohol.
- If in doubt, never drive a car if you’ve been drinking
