We will use humble materials such as calico, muslin, brown paper, magazine papers, printmaking papers, charcoal, ink, coffee and tea staining, string, embroidery cotton and white ceiling paint to magic into being some organic tactile pieces, which will focus on landscape as the theme.

We will use a Gel press and an etching press (I will bring ink to share) to further explore imagery of the natural environment.

We will also use house paint and various fabrics on a variety of supports.

Ready yourself for a busy and productive time spent with like minded souls. Create memories.

These can be further deconstructed and reconstructed to realize your vision.

About the tutor

J.Gaye Nieuwenhof is an Australian artist working with Mixed-Media.

Inspiration is sourced from the Environment where those elements she loves to include in her work can be readily found. Texture, colour, layers both clandestine and exposed in a process driven workflow. The imagined inner world is expressed through Printmaking, Painting, Collage, Monotypes on both cloth and paper and some slow stitch. A ceramic artist in a past life who still dabbles with Pit firing pots on occasion. Making art all her life and eternally searching for the deep learning that comes from a sense of place nurtures life long creativity.
