This course will introduce you to working with oil paint and cold wax medium.
Exploring the qualities and techniques unique to working with oil and cold wax (OCW), you will learn how to use a limited palette, mark making and collage materials to create luminous and textured compositions.
By the end of the workshop, you will have a basic understanding of the principles for working with OCW; and have created an artwork from start to finish.
About the tutor
Diane is an Australian mixed media artist, inspired by nature, colour and texture. Working exclusively on oil paper using oil paint and cold wax as her prime mediums, Diane creates small intimate abstract perspectives as experienced through the visual relationships of shape, colour and light.

• Oil Paint

• Odourless mineral solvent (OMS)
• Vegetable oil (for cleaning up)
• Palette knives and/or spatulas
• Silicone scrapers
• Mark making tools

• Baby wipes and Chux
• Posca pens, charcoal, NeoColor II crayons
• Collage materials – rice paper, tissue paper etc
