The Monday morning Printmaking Art Group has fun experimenting with various print techniques. This is not a tutored group – we’re self-taught printmakers with varying levels of experience and enjoy helping each other learn about the endless options in our medium.
We work in a non-toxic environment, using water-based and oil-based inks for relief blocks, which are printed by hand as well as on the press. We use silk-cut lino, blue/green soft plastic plates or white Ezy-Cut for relief prints. Intaglio prints are usually produced on plexiglass plates with oil-based inks. Some of us also work with collagraphy, monoprinting and experiment with mixed mediums.
Artists of all skill levels are welcome to join our group. We have a stock of materials which we’re willing to share with newcomers until they are more familiar with the medium.
Please bring your own art materials (when you have them), a drink and a snack if required plus cleaning gear for your area. The CAW room is equipped with tables, easels, donkeys, small tables and chairs. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to set up. We hope to see you there.
Payment for Art Groups is non-refundable.
