Join Mo Godbeer in a fun, inspiring, and supportive environment for one of her awesome workshops! Whether you are a painter or work in Fibre, paper, photography, collage, or sculpture, you will love to add the unique Encaustic magic to your work! No experience is needed. You only need to bring your creative self!

Once the medium of the Ancient Greeks 2500 years ago, Encaustic Painting has experienced huge popularity in the contemporary art community. Hot molten beeswax, pigments, and tree resin make up your palette as you create luminous texture with an infinite number of techniques!

In Mo’s encaustic workshop, you will learn lots of encaustic techniques as well as her unique approach to the art of painting with beeswax! Mo will encourage students to learn & experiment with a vast variety of encaustic techniques.

Mo will show you step by step how to achieve smooth and textured surfaces. Over two days there will be new techniques to add to your expanding knowledge of encaustic.

Techniques will include textured and smooth surfaces, image transfer, intarsia, line and edge, stencils, scraping, inks, gold leafing and much more.

By the end of the workshop, you will walk away with enough knowledge to set up your own encaustic workspace and have all the tools in your kitbag to create work with color, depth and luminosity that only the encaustic process can produce.

About the tutor

I fell in love with the ancient medium of encaustic many years ago. After several requests I began teaching in 2006.

With my partner Mark we established Encaustic Workshops Australia. We decided to do a complete lifestyle change and buy a caravan to take my love of encaustic on the road. That was 9 years ago, and we are still loving sharing creativity and fun with people all over Australia. Since then, I have taught hundreds of people in nearly every state and territory in Australia. I have created many different encaustic workshops that cover lots of different techniques and encaustic styles. We also manufacture our own encaustic mediums sourced from local beekeepers. My own art style incorporates abstract drawing, encaustic, collage and lots of colour.
