Break free from rigid, overthinking approaches to drawing and discover a more intuitive, expressive way of making art. This energetic two-day workshop is designed to help you loosen up, trust your instincts and reconnect with the joy of creative exploration.
Working on a large scale with a variety of drawing materials, you'll experiment with bold mark-making, movement and spontaneous responses that bypass perfectionism and encourage fresh ways of seeing. Expect to get messy, take creative risks and surprise yourself with what emerges.
Whether you're feeling stuck in your practice or simply looking to inject more freedom into your work, this workshop will leave you with new confidence, fresh techniques and a renewed sense of play.
All materials are supplied. Please wear old clothes suitable for messy artmaking.
About the tutors
As a practising artist Rick is passionate about teaching others the skill sets required to empower creativity. He was part of the Canberra Art Workshop management team from 2006-2021 and also runs a life drawing art group every Wednesday evening. Primarily an oil painter, he is also a skilled printmaker.
