Discover the possibilities of collagraph printmaking in this hands-on one-day workshop, using an unexpected material — recycled Tetrapak cartons.

You’ll learn how to turn everyday packaging, such as milk or stock cartons, into unique printing plates. Using simple mark-making tools, you’ll experiment with cutting, drawing, scratching, scoring, carving and embossing the surface to create texture, pattern and tone.

Once your plate is ready, you’ll explore inking techniques used in intaglio printmaking before printing your designs onto paper. Each plate produces its own distinctive results, making collagraph an exciting and very accessible way to create original prints.

This workshop is all about experimenting with materials, discovering what different marks can do and seeing how an ordinary recycled carton can be transformed into a finished artwork.

Suitable for beginners and those with some printmaking experience. Come along, experiment and make your own unique cutting edge tetrapak prints.
