This painting and drawing workshop held over two sessions is designed to expand your understanding and sensitivity to the interplay of shape, colour, tone, texture and line when constructing abstract compositions. The first session will begin with making abstract compositional studies loosely referencing a non-conventional still life. These designs will be subsequently refined as you begin to imagine and test out ways to enhance the sensation of the surface and build the illusion of space. On the second day the best of your designs will become the basis for a more refined and sustained abstract work. Suitable for all painting media and chalk pastels.
A graduate of the ANU School of Art & Design Painting department, Elisa Crossing has exhibited paintings, drawings and 3D installation works in a career spanning two decades, with seven solo exhibitions and many group shows, locally and nationally.
