A short course to explore the properties of oil paint and the power of colour mixing with oil paint.
Learn the difference between warm and cool colours, between transparent and opaque paint, and the application that allows you to create depth and form within your oil painting.
Learn to identify which colours are warm and cool, to avoid unintentionally mixing them together that can neutralize your painting, but instead utilizing colour temperature to make your paintings come to life.
During the course, participants will be shown how to set up a paint palette for successful painting through to learning how to make a variety of colours from just a limited palette. You will also be shown how to start a painting through various processes and how to load your brush with paint to make painterly brushstrokes that show energy, direction and a beautiful hand-made quality.
