Mixed Media Explorers is for artists interested in exploring many ways of making art – e.g. collage, abstract expression, textile art, drawing, gelli plate printing, encaustic art, artists book making and small-scale sculpture. Mixed media also describes artworks composed from a combination of different media or materials. Anything goes! We enjoy learning from one another and sharing new challenges.
Examples can be found in the work of famous artists such as Picasso, Georges Braque, Tracy Emin, Eileen Agar and Cy Twombly. Some contemporary mixed media artists include Johanna Goodman, Eva Magill Oliver and Njideka Akunyili Crosby.
