We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported our artist in residence fundraiser in June! We were blown away by the generosity and enthusiasm for creating paid opportunities for artists to experiment and develop new work.

Thanks to your support, we raised over $5,000 to strengthen our artist residency program — helping ensure they remain equitable, inclusive, and fully supported.

Give some creativity to your kids these holidays

We have a few spots left these school holidays in our kids programs to get inky and have fun in the studios.

Your kids can learn how to create and print a zine in the studio during one of our zine-making workshops, or they can express themselves when they design and print their own jumper to keep out the chill this winter in a special screenprinting program.

Zoya Godoroja-Prieckaerts

5 July – 16 August

In a single life, we accumulate a mountain of experiences and face different obstacles that each bring distinct marks, colours, shapes, symbols, characters, and come together to amount to a multitude of lives. The constant flux of life means we are always shifting, always learning, always unlearning, and experiencing something new and different.

Opening event: 5:30pm, Friday 4 July

Megalo is open 9:30 – 5 // Tuesday – Saturday.

Workshops

Intro to Print with Peter McLean, John Hart + Molly Kamenz

6pm – 9pm | 6 x Thursdays 7, 14, 21, 28 August + 4, 11 September

Over 6 weekly sessions you will be introduced to the processes of relief printing (linocut), screen printing on fabric and intaglio (etching) by Megalo tutors in our state-of-the-art printmaking facility.

Stone Lithography Intensive with John Hart

10am – 3pm | Saturday 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 August + 6 September

Over this 6-week intensive, you’ll complete the stone lithography process from start to finish multiple times. The course will cover a range of skills including multi-colour printing, the transfer of drawings between stones, gum stop-outs, solvent transfers and punch registration.

Heat Press Copper Plate Etching with Bella La Spina

10am – 4pm | Saturday 5 + Sunday 6 July

Heat press copper etching is a process that transfers a photographic image onto a prepared copper plate. The plate is then etched in an acid bath, creating a detailed image that can be inked and printed.
