Exhibition Opening

Moving in Circles
Richard Harding

13 July – 24 August

Opening // 2pm Saturday 13 July

Celebrate the opening of Richard Harding’s extraordinary solo exhibition with us from 2pm – 4pm, Saturday 13 July.  Harding’s practice examines codes of representation through a queer lens with a focus on orientation and gender to explore perceptions of liberation and oppression.  Moving in Circles will be opened at 2pm, Saturday 13 July by Dr Rebecca Mayo, Lecturer, ANU School of Art & Design.

Ranging from figurative expressionist woodcuts to photographic screen prints, Moving in Circles highlights ongoing topics of concern from nuclear disarmament to human rights focusing on various LGBTQIA+ positions—local and global.

The exhibition opens 13 July and continues through 24 August.

Megalo is open 9:30 – 5 // Tuesday – Saturday.

July Print Social

5:30pm – 8:00pm | Friday 26th July

Join us for an evening of printing and socialising at Megalo with Max Gosling and Bronte Bell!

In this exciting evening workshop, you will have the opportunity to create a monoprint in a relaxed social environment! Guided by Megalo printmakers Max Gosling and Bronte Bell, you’ll coat an acetate plate with ink and slowly wipe back to create a unique image. We recommend bringing along an object or a photo that you would like to represent in your print! After preparing your image, you’ll have the chance to print using one of Megalo’s presses.

This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to try out our presses, create art in a friendly environment, and enjoy drinks and snacks along the way.

Applications for the Megalo’s 2025 Artist in Residence program are now open! The residency program gives artists at all stages of their career access to the studios, print facilities and equipment, and the time and space to make new work or experiment with ideas without the pressure of a set outcome.

Megalo is now calling for applications from artists, including at least one residency reserved for artists of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. In addition, one international residency will also be offered to an artist outside Australia.

Applications close 29 July. To learn more about the residency program and how to apply visit the Megalo website.
