We are thrilled to announce our 2025 program of exhibitions and our artists-in-residence who will be joining us this year! This year also marks the 45th birthday for Megalo Print Studio, making ours the longest-running community print studio in Australia. From our roots in an Ainslie tin shed in 1980, Megalo has continued to grow and evolve into the thriving printmaking community that continues today.

Studio inductions
All current and new members are required to complete an induction before entering the Megalo studios. We are pleased to announce some changes to this process to make it easier for members to access the studio spaces and get making.
To book an induction, head to the bookings page on our website, email or give us a call. We will continue to hold daily WHS inductions this week at 10am, through to Saturday 25. After this we will resume our weekly inductions at 10am every Saturday.

Collagraph is a print technique which uses mount board to create a surface to hold ink, which is then pressed into the paper using a high pressure printing press. The printing process and image quality is similar to that of etching but the plate is created without the use of acid, making it perfect for those who want to learn intaglio techniques that can also be done at home!

Draw inspiration from the exhibition Masami Teraoka and Japanese ukiyo-e prints, on view at the National Gallery of Australia, and learn the process of etching in this hands-on workshop with artist Aiko Robinson.
From the early 1970s, Masami Teraoka adopted the traditional visual vocabulary of 17th–19th century Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock prints to reflect on contemporary themes such as globalisation, collisions between Asian and Western cultures, environmental degradation, and the AIDS crisis.
