On Show 2023 – Transition
Canberra Art Workshop
The Canberra Art Workshop On Show 2023 – Transition exhibition of members’ work provides an opportunity to represent the transitions we go through as artists, including the transitions occurring and affecting us in the world today. As we grow and change as artists, new things challenge us and capture our imagination. The world around us has changed so much since 2019 (not all of it for the better). There is no better medium than art to demonstrate these changes.

Katie Hayne
Dream City Demolition presents a series of new works by Katie Hayne documenting Canberra’s changing urban places through painting and installation. In capturing Canberra’s dynamic landscape, Hayne draws attention to the materiality of places and questions the environmental impact of concrete and urban renewal.

Dog Birthday Party
Jess Dabro
Jess Dabro, a Primary Art Teacher with a Graphic Design and Illustration background, has a passion for animals, particularly dogs. She was inspired by the book ‘𝘉𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘋𝘰𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘺 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳’ by Wendy Graham, which she used to read to her children when they were younger. Jess frequently visits dog parks and is fascinated by the unique breeds and personalities of each dog. Her latest artwork features a miniature dog party scene and aims to bring joy and wonder to viewers of all ages.
