If you’re reading this blog then you’re familiar with Hitchcock’s iconic movies, but what was it that made them stand out amongst all the others?
Elisa Crossing gave a incredible presentation at Monday’s Life Drawing to bring our attention to the composition of Hitchcock’s images, the use of a doorway to frame a scene and the character’s position relative to the doorway to imply entrance, exit, past or future. The clever use of a character silhouetted by a brighter background and the placement of a prop to draw the viewer’s attention and provide a narrative for the image.
How can you apply these techniques to your images?
Elisa has kindly offered to share her noted from the presentation, click here to download.
